“Son of man, {\cf2\super [252]} I have broken the arm (power)of Pharaoh, king of Egypt. No one will wrap his arm with a bandage. It won’t heal. So his arm won’t be strong enough to hold a sword.”

The king of Babylon captured all the land between the Brook of Egypt and the Euphrates River. This land was previously controlled by Egypt. So the king of Egypt did not leave Egypt any more.

\{Lord,\} destroy the evil people.\par

Why? Because evil people will be destroyed.\par But the Lord cares for good people.\par

God, you helped them defend themselves.\par You did not help your king win the battle.\par

From the bottom of your feet to the top of your head, every part of your body has wounds, hurts, and open sores. You have not cared for your sores. Your wounds are not cleaned and covered.

There is no person to care for your sores.\par So you will not be healed.\par

Zedekiah was the king of Judah. Nebuchadnezzar was Zedekiah’s enemy. And I gave Zedekiah to his enemy. In the same way, I will give Pharaoh Hophra to his enemy.’”

“Egypt, go to Gilead and get some medicine.\par You will make up many medicines,\par but they will not help.\par You will not be healed.\par

Moab’s strength has been cut off.\par Moab’s arm has been broken.”\par The Lord said these things.\par

I will make the arms of the king of Babylon strong. I will put my sword in his hand. But I will break the arms of Pharaoh. Then Pharaoh will cry out in pain, the kind of cry that a dying man makes.

But I will knock your bow from your left hand. I will knock your arrows from your right hand.

You have many, many businessmen that go places and buy things. They are as many as the stars in the sky! And they are like locusts that come, eat everything until it is finished, and then leave.

Oh my worthless shepherd.\par You abandoned my sheep.\par Punish him!\par Hit his right arm and right eye\par with a sword.\par His right arm will be useless.\par His right eye will be blind.\par

Then a powerful angel picked up a large rock. This rock was as big as a large millstone. {\cf2\super [137]} The angel threw the rock into the sea and said:
