But then I will punish the nation that made them slaves. Your people will leave that land, and they will take many good things with them.

Tell them that the Lord their Master said these things. This sad message is about the leader of Jerusalem and all the people of Israel living there.

Then I will punish you. I will punish you as a murderer and a woman that did the sin of adultery. You will be punished as if by an angry and jealous husband.
