\{Use the sign\} to show which road the sword will use. One road leads to the Ammonite city of Rabbah. The other road leads to Judah, to the protected city, Jerusalem!

Rabbah was the capital city of the Ammonites. Joab fought against Rabbah and captured it.

David lived in the fort and called it “The City of David.” [27] David built the area called the Millo. [28] He also built more buildings inside the city.

Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate, at the Valley Gate, and at the place where the wall turned. Uzziah made those towers strong.

Hezekiah made Jerusalem stronger. This is how he did it: He built again all the parts of the wall that were broken down. He built towers on the wall. He also built another wall outside the first wall. He built again the strong places on the east side of the old part of Jerusalem. He made many weapons and shields.

After that happened, Manasseh built an outer wall for the City of David. {\cf2\super [410]} This wall went to the west of Gihon Spring in \{Kidron\} Valley, to the entrance of the Fish Gate, and around the hill of Ophel. {\cf2\super [411]} He made the wall very tall. Then he put officers in all the fortresses {\cf2\super [412]} in Judah.

The Lord says,\par “The time will come in Rabbah of Ammon {\cf2\super [396]} \par when people hear the sounds of battle.\par Rabbah of Ammon will be destroyed.\par It will be an empty hill\par covered with destroyed buildings.\par And the towns around it will be burned.\par Those people forced the people of Israel\par to leave their own land.\par But later, Israel will force them to leave.”\par The Lord said these things.\par

The kings of the earth could not believe\par what had happened.\par The people of the world could not believe\par what had happened.\par They could not believe\par that enemies would be able to come\par through the city gates of Jerusalem.\par

“‘I will make the city Rabbah a pasture for camels and the country of Ammon a sheep pen. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

So I will start a fire at the wall of Rabbah. {\cf2\super [28]} That fire will destroy the high towers of Rabbah. Troubles will come to them like a whirlwind {\cf2\super [29]} into their country.

Og was the king of Bashan. Og was one of the few Rephaite people still alive. Og’s bed was made from iron. It was over 13 feet long and 6 feet wide. [15] The bed is still in the city of Rabbah, where the Ammonite people live.)
