\{So God said\}:\par “You people living in Jerusalem,\par and you, man of Judah, {\cf2\super [45]} \par think about me and my vineyard. {\cf2\super [46]} \par
“As for you, Jeremiah, don’t pray for these people of Judah. Don’t beg for them. Don’t say prayers for them. I will not listen. Those people will begin to suffer. And then they will call to me for help. But I will not listen.
The Lord said to me, “Jeremiah, even if Moses and Samuel were here to pray for the people of Judah, I would not feel sorry for these people. Send the people of Judah away from me. Tell them to go.
“As for you, Jeremiah, don’t pray for these people of Judah. Don’t beg for them or pray for them. Don’t beg for me to help them. I will not listen to your prayer for them.
\{I would punish that country\} even if Noah, Danel, and Job {\cf2\super [114]} lived there. Those men could save their own lives by their goodness, \{but they could not save the whole country\}.” The Lord my Master said these things.
If Noah, Danel, and Job lived there, \{then I would save those three men\} because they are good men. Those three men could save their own lives. But by my life I promise, they could not save the lives of other people—not even their own sons and daughters!” The Lord my Master said these things.
The Lord my Master said to me, “Son of man, {\cf2\super [191]} will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then tell them about the terrible things they have done.
“But good men will judge them guilty. They will judge those women guilty of the sin of adultery {\cf2\super [199]} and murder. Why? Because Oholah and Oholibah have done the sin of adultery and the blood from people they killed is still on their hands!”
