You took your beautiful clothes and used them to decorate your places of worship. And you acted like a prostitute in those places. You gave yourself to every man that came by!
Then King Josiah broke down the houses of the male prostitutes [286] that were in the Lord’s temple. Women also used those houses and made little tent covers to honor the false goddess Asherah.
Ahaz gathered the things from God’s temple {\cf2\super [328]} and broke them to pieces. Then he closed the doors of the Lord’s temple. He made altars {\cf2\super [329]} and put them on every street corner in Jerusalem.
