Moses set up the Holy Tent like the Lord had said. He put the bases down first. Then he put the frames on the bases. Then he put the braces on and set up the posts.
The Lord spoke to Moses in the Meeting Tent. [1] This was in the Sinai Desert. It was on the first day of the second month of the second year after the people of Israel left Egypt. The Lord said to Moses:
On the 20th day of the second month of the second year after the people of Israel left Egypt, the cloud rose from above the Tent of the Agreement. [149]
Moses finished setting up the Holy Tent. [99] On that day, he dedicated it to the Lord. Moses anointed [100] the Tent and all the things in it. Moses also anointed the altar [101] and all the things used with it. This showed that these things should be used only for worshiping the Lord.
The Lord spoke to Moses in the Sinai desert. This was during the first month of the second year after the people of Israel came out of Egypt. The Lord said to Moses,
On the day the Holy Tent, [147] the Tent of the Agreement, was set up, the Lord’s cloud covered it. At night, the cloud over the Holy Tent looked like fire.
