You should watch over the animal until the 14th day of the month. On that day, all the people of the community of Israel must kill these animals at twilight. [63]
Then the people left Elim and came to the Sinai desert, between Elim and Sinai. They arrived at that place on the 15th day of the second month [101] after leaving Egypt.
God said, “You can do it because I will be with you! This will be the proof that I am sending you: After you lead the people out of Egypt, you will come and worship me on this mountain!”
The Lord spoke to Moses in the Meeting Tent. [1] This was in the Sinai Desert. It was on the first day of the second month of the second year after the people of Israel left Egypt. The Lord said to Moses:
Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Mount Horeb (Sinai). The Lord said to me, ‘Gather the people together to listen to the things I say. Then they will learn to respect me as long as they live on earth. And they will teach these things to their children.’
