The children of Israel at Jerusalem celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread {\cf2\super [374]} for seven days. They were very happy. The Levites and the priests gave praise to the Lord every day with all their strength.
“Celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread. For seven days eat that bread made without yeast like I commanded you before. Do this during the month I have chosen, the month of Abib. [346] Why? Because that is the month you came out of Egypt.
For seven days, you will bring sacrifices offered by fire to the Lord. Then there will be another special meeting on the seventh day. You must not do any work {on that day}.”
You must eat unleavened bread [100] six days. On the seventh day you must not do any work. On this day, the people will come together for a special meeting to honor the Lord your God.
