Ephesians 4:22Easy To Read VersionYou were taught to leave your old self. This means that you must stop living the evil way you lived before. That old self becomes worse and worse, because people are fooled by the evil things they want to do. See the chapter |
Edom, you scared other nations.\par So you thought you were important.\par But your pride has fooled you.\par You live in those caves, high on the cliff.\par Your home is high in the hills.\par But even if you build your home\par as high as an eagle’s nest,\par I will bring you down from there.”\par The Lord said these things.\par
We have those many people \{of faith\} around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So we should be like them. We too should run the race that is before us and never stop trying. We should take away \{from our lives\} anything that would stop us. And we should take away the sin that so easily catches us.
These false teachers have made many people suffer. So they themselves will suffer. That is their pay for what they have done. These false teachers think it is fun to do evil things openly \{where all people can see\}. They enjoy the evil things that please them. So they are like dirty spots and stains among you—\{they bring shame to you\} in the meals that you eat together.
