You are very kind!\par So you didn’t leave them in the desert.\par You didn’t take the tall cloud\par away from them by day.\par You continued to lead them.\par You didn’t take the column of fire\par away from them at night.\par You continued to light their path\par and show them which way to go.\par
Your ancestors did not say,\par ‘The Lord brought us from Egypt.\par The Lord led us through the desert.\par The Lord led us through a dry\par and rocky land.\par The Lord led us through a dark\par and dangerous land.\par No people live there.\par People don’t even travel through\par that land.\par But the Lord led us through that land.\par So where is the Lord now?’\par
I tell you, when this man finished his prayer and went home, he was right with God. But the Pharisee, {\cf2\super [289]} who felt that he was better than other people, was not right with God. Every person that makes himself important will be made humble. But the person that makes himself humble will be made important.”
