Acts 15:30

Easy To Read Version

So Paul, Barnabas, Judas, and Silas left Jerusalem. They went to Antioch. In Antioch they gathered the group of believers and gave them the letter.

The believers were scattered by the persecution {\cf2\super [226]} that happened after Stephen was killed. Some of the believers went to places far away like Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch. The believers told the Good News {\cf2\super [227]} in these places; but they told it only to Jews.

Some of these believers were men from Cyprus and Cyrene. When these men came to Antioch, they also spoke to Greeks (non-Jews). They told these Greek people the Good News about the Lord Jesus.

About that same time some prophets {\cf2\super [229]} went from Jerusalem to Antioch.

The apostles, {\cf2\super [315]} the elders, {\cf2\super [316]} and the whole church (group of believers) wanted to send some men with Paul and Barnabas to Antioch. The group decided to choose some of their own men. They chose Judas (also called Barsabbas) and Silas. These men were respected by the brothers \{in Jerusalem\}.

When the believers read it, they were happy. The letter comforted them.

Then Paul and the men with him traveled through other cities. {\cf2\super [328]} They gave the believers the rules and decisions from the apostles {\cf2\super [329]} and elders {\cf2\super [330]} in Jerusalem. They told the believers to obey these rules.

What should we do? The Jewish believers here will learn that you have come.

The soldiers on horses entered Caesarea and gave the letter to the governor (Felix). Then they gave Paul to him.

The twelve apostles {\cf2\super [108]} called the whole group of followers together. The apostles said to them, “Our work of teaching God’s word has stopped. That’s not good! It is better for us to continue teaching God’s word than to help people have something to eat.
