Paul and those people with him sailed away from Paphos. They came to Perga, a city in Pamphylia. But John \{Mark\} left them; he returned to Jerusalem.

When Peter realized this, he went to the home of Mary. She was the mother of John. (John was also called Mark.) Many people were gathered there. They were all praying.

A few days later, Paul said to Barnabas, “We told the message {\cf2\super [325]} of the Lord in many towns. We should go back to all those towns to visit the brothers and sisters and see how they are doing.”

But \{on their first trip\} John Mark had left them at Pamphylia; he did not continue with them in the work. So Paul did not think it was a good idea to take him.

Then a good wind began to blow from the south. The men on the ship thought, “This is the wind we wanted, and now we have it!” So they pulled up the anchor. We sailed very close to the island of Crete.

We went across the sea by Cilicia and Pamphylia. Then we came to the city of Myra in Lycia.

Aristarchus says hello. He is a prisoner with me. And Mark, the cousin of Barnabas, also says hello. (I have already told you what to do about Mark. If he comes, welcome him.)
