Then Solomon put the columns up in front of the temple. One column stood on the right side. The other column stood on the left side. Solomon named the column on the right side “Jakin.” {\cf2\super [48]} And Solomon named the column on the left side “Boaz.” {\cf2\super [49]}

Simeon’s sons were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, and Zohar. There was also Shaul. (Shaul was born from a Canaanite woman.)

Huram put these two bronze columns at the porch of the temple. One column was put on the south side and one was put on the north side {of the entrance}. The column on the south was named Jakin. The column on the north was named Boaz.

Solomon made chains in a necklace. He put the chains on the tops of the columns. Solomon made 100 pomegranates {\cf2\super [47]} and put them on the chains.

The porch was 20 cubits {\cf2\super [357]} wide and 12 cubits {\cf2\super [358]} long. {\cf2\super [359]} Ten steps went up to the porch. There were two columns for the walls on either side of the porch—one at each wall.
