2 Chronicles 13:12

God himself is with us. He is our ruler, and his priests are with us. God’s priests blow his trumpets to wake you up and make you excited about coming to him! Men of Israel, don’t fight against the Lord God of your ancestors! {\cf2\super [175]} You will not succeed!”

God’s Spirit came on Zechariah. Zechariah’s father was Jehoiada the priest. Zechariah stood in front of the people and said, “This is what God says: ‘Why do you people refuse to obey the Lord’s commands? You will not be successful. You have left the Lord. So the Lord has also left you!’”

The king of Assyria only has men. But we have the Lord our God with us! Our God will help us. He will fight our battles!” So Hezekiah king of Judah encouraged the people and made them feel stronger.

Are your arms as strong as God’s arm?\par Do you have a voice like God’s voice\par that can sound loud like thunder?\par

God is very wise\par and his power is very great.\par No person can fight God and not be hurt.\par

Some people trust their chariots. {\cf2\super [117]} \par Other people trust their soldiers.\par But we remember the Lord our God.\par

The Lord All-Powerful is with us.\par The God of Jacob is our place of safety.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [282]})\i0 \par

“Look at these people! They are arguing with the One who made them. Look at them argue with me! They are like pieces of clay from a broken pot. A man uses soft, wet clay to make a pot. And the clay does not ask, ‘Man, what are you doing?’ Things that are made don’t have the power to question the one who makes them. \{People are like this clay.\}

“People will make weapons to fight against you, but those weapons will not defeat you. Some people will say things against you. But every person that speaks against you will be shown to be wrong.”

Make your plans for the fight!\par Your plans will be defeated.\par Give orders to your armies!\par Your orders will be useless.\par Why? Because God is with us! {\cf2\super [101]} \par

So you will eventually leave Egypt, too.\par And you will hide your face in shame.\par You trusted those countries.\par But the Lord rejected those countries,\par

Babylon, I set a trap for you.\par And you were caught before you knew it.\par You fought against the Lord,\par so you were found and captured.\par

The Lord my Master said these things.\par “Do you think that plant will succeed?\par No! The new eagle will pull the plant\par from the ground.\par And the bird will break the plant’s roots.\par It will eat up all the grapes.\par Then the new leaves will wilt.\par That plant will be very weak.\par It won’t take strong arms\par or a powerful nation\par to pull that plant up by the roots.\par

\{They will defeat their enemy\}—it will be like soldiers marching through mud in the streets. They will fight, and since the Lord is with them, they will defeat even the enemy soldiers riding horses.

But Moses said, “Why are you not obeying the Lord’s command? You will not be successful!

God saw no wrong in Jacob’s people. God saw no sin in the people of Israel. The Lord is their God, and he is with them. The Great King is with them!

Moses sent those 12,000 men to war. He sent Phineas, the son of Eleazar the priest, with them. Phineas took the holy things and the horns and trumpets with him.

But if this is from God, then you will not be able to stop them. You might even be fighting against God himself!”

So what should we say about this? If God is for us, then no person can stand against us. And God is with us.

Why? Because the Lord your God is going with you. He will help you fight against your enemies. The Lord your God will help you win!’

In daylight, you will have to feel your way like a blind man. You will fail in everything you do. Again and again people will hurt you and steal things from you. And there will not be anyone to save you.

God is the One who made all things. And all things are for his glory. God wanted to have many people to be his children and share his glory. So God did what he needed to do. He made perfect the One (Jesus) who leads those people to salvation. God made Jesus \{a\} perfect \{Savior\} through Jesus’ suffering.
