The king of Assyria sent his three most important commanders with a large army to King Hezekiah in Jerusalem. Those men left Lachish and went to Jerusalem. They stood near the aqueduct [225] by the Upper Pool. (The Upper Pool is on the road to the Washers’ Field.)
During Hezekiah’s {\cf2\super [334]} 14th year as king, Sennacherib {\cf2\super [335]} king of Assyria went to fight against all the strong cities of Judah. Sennacherib defeated those cities.
“Go along the rows of Judah’s grapevines.\par Cut down the vines.\par (But don’t completely destroy them.)\par Cut off all their branches.\par Why? Because they don’t belong to the Lord.\par
