In Egypt, Hadad heard that David had died. He also heard that Joab, the commander of the army was dead. So Hadad said to Pharaoh, “Let me go home to my own country.”

Then Joseph told his brothers to go. And while they were leaving, Joseph said to them, “Go straight home. And don’t fight on the way.”

Abner said to David, “My lord and king, let me go bring all the Israelites to you. Then they will make an agreement with you. And you will rule over all Israel, like you wanted.”

The woman answered, “I will do exactly what you said.” The woman said goodbye, and the men left her house. Then the woman tied the red rope in the window.

Early the next morning, Samuel shouted to Saul on the roof. Samuel said, “Get up. I will send you on your way.” Saul got up and went out of the house with Samuel.
