If a person does not believe in the Son, then he does not have the Father. But the person who accepts the Son has the Father, too.

The Father and I are one.”

People will do these things because they have not known the Father, and they have not known me.

And this is eternal life: that people can know you, the only true God, and that people can know Jesus Christ, the One you sent.

God did this so that all people will respect the Son the same as they respect the Father. If a person does not respect the Son, then that person does not respect the Father. The Father is the One who sent the Son.

The people asked, “Where is your father?”

So who is the liar? It is the person that says Jesus is not the Christ. {\cf2\super [7]} A person that says Jesus is not the Christ is the enemy of Christ. That person does not believe in the Father (God) or in his Son (Christ).

If a person says, “I believe that Jesus is the Son of God,” then God lives in that person. And that person lives in God.

This is how you can know God’s Spirit. {\cf2\super [15]} One spirit says, “I believe that Jesus is the Christ who came to earth and became a man.” That Spirit is from God.
