1 John 1:3Easy To Read VersionNow we tell you the things that we have seen and heard. Why? Because we want you to have fellowship {\cf2\super [1]} together with us. The fellowship we share together is with God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. See the chapter |
I will put a mark on some of the people—\{I will save them\}. I will send some of these saved people to the nations Tarshish, {\cf2\super [480]} Libya, {\cf2\super [481]} Lud {\cf2\super [482]} (the land of archers {\cf2\super [483]}), Tubal, {\cf2\super [484]} Greece, and all the faraway lands. Those people have never heard my teachings. Those people have never seen my Glory. {\cf2\super [485]} So the saved people will tell the nations about my glory.
\{The believers in\} Macedonia and Achaia were happy to do this. And really they should help those believers in Jerusalem. They should help because they are non-Jews and have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings. So they should use the things they have to help the Jews. They owe this to the Jews.
This is that secret truth: that the non-Jews will get the things God has for his people, the same as the Jews. The non-Jews are together with the Jews in the same body. And they share together in the promise that God made in Christ Jesus. The non-Jews have all these things because of the Good News. {\cf2\super [23]}
And I know that I am right to think like this about all of you. I am sure because I have you in my heart—I feel very close to you. I feel close to you because all of you share in God’s grace (kindness) with me. You share in God’s grace with me while I am in prison, while I am defending the Good News, {\cf2\super [5]} and while I am proving the truth of the Good News.
