The foundation has already been built. No person can build any other foundation. The foundation that has already been built is Jesus Christ.

Like an expert builder I built the foundation {\cf2\super [17]} of that house. I used the gift that God gave me to do this. Other people are building on that foundation. But each person should be careful how he builds.

A person can build on that foundation, using gold, silver, jewels, wood, grass, or straw.

Ephesians 2:20

You believers are like a building that God owns. That building was built on the foundation that the apostles {\cf2\super [15]} and prophets {\cf2\super [16]} prepared. Christ himself is the most important stone {\cf2\super [17]} in that building.
