1 Corinthians 2:4Easy To Read VersionMy teaching and my speaking were not with wise words that persuade people. But the proof of my teaching was the power that the Spirit {\cf2\super [13]} gives. See the chapter |
I hear people whispering against me.\par Everywhere, I hear things that scare me.\par Even my friends are saying things\par against me.\par People are just waiting for me\par to make some mistake.\par They are saying,\par “Let us lie and say he did some bad thing.\par Maybe we can trick Jeremiah.\par Then we will have him.\par We will finally be rid of him.\par Then we will grab him\par and take our revenge on him.”\par

You heard those things from the men who told you the Good News. {\cf2\super [6]} They told you with the help of the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [7]} that was sent from heaven. The things you were told are things that even the angels want very much to know about.

Then we will know how to capture him and tie him up. Then we will be able to control him. If you do this, each one of us will give you 28 pounds [114] of silver.”
