Easy To Read Version

The family history of the Hebron family shows that Jeriah was their leader. When David had been king for 40 years, he ordered his people to search through the family histories for strong and skilled men. Some of those men were found among the Hebron family living in the town of Jazer in Gilead.

David was 30 years old when he began to rule. He was king for 40 years.

David ruled Israel 40 years. He ruled seven years in Hebron and 33 years in Jerusalem.

Hebron’s oldest son was Jeriah. Hebron’s second son was Amariah. Jahaziel was the third son, and Jekameam was the fourth son.

“I will cry with the peopleof Jazer and Sibmah\par because the grapes have been destroyed.\par I will cry with the people\par of Heshbon and Elealeh\par because there will be no harvest.\par There will be no summer fruit.\par And there will be no shouts of joy.\par
