He was wiser than any of the men on earth. He was even wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite. He was wiser than Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol. King Solomon became famous in all of the countries around Israel and Judah.

David and all the people of Israel were celebrating before God. They were praising God and singing songs. They were playing harps, {\cf2\super [139]} lyres, {\cf2\super [140]} drums, cymbals, {\cf2\super [141]} and trumpets.

David told the Levite leaders to get their brothers, the singers. The singers were to take their lyres, {\cf2\super [160]} harps {\cf2\super [161]} , and cymbals {\cf2\super [162]} and sing happy songs.

There was also a second group of Levites. {\cf2\super [163]} They were Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed Edom, and Jeiel. These men were the Levite guards.

Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah played the alamoth {\cf2\super [165]} lyres. {\cf2\super [166]}

Heman and Jeduthun were with them. They had the job of blowing the trumpets and playing cymbals. {\cf2\super [191]} They also had the job of playing other musical instruments when songs were sung to God. Jeduthun’s sons guarded the gates.\par

Asaph was the leader \{of the first group\}. Asaph’s group played the cymbals. {\cf2\super [185]} Zechariah was the \{leader of the\} second \{group\}. The other Levites were: Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed Edom, and Jeiel. These men played the lyres {\cf2\super [186]} and harps. {\cf2\super [187]}

David and the leaders of the army separated Asaph’s sons for special service. Asaph’s sons were Heman and Jeduthun. Their special service was to prophesy {\cf2\super [270]} God’s message by using harps, {\cf2\super [271]} lyres, {\cf2\super [272]} and cymbals. {\cf2\super [273]} Here is a list of the men that served this way:

Heman led all his sons in singing in the Lord’s temple. {\cf2\super [278]} Those sons used cymbals, {\cf2\super [279]} lyres, {\cf2\super [280]} and harps. {\cf2\super [281]} That was their way of serving in God’s temple. King David chose those men.

The Levites from the Kohath family groups and the Korah family stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel. Their voices were very loud as they gave praise to the Lord.

The priests stood ready to do their work. The Levites also stood with the instruments of the Lord’s music. These instruments were made by King David to give thanks to the Lord. The priests and Levites were singing, Praise the Lord because his love continues forever. {\cf2\super [123]} The priests blew their trumpets as they stood across from the Levites. And all the people of Israel were standing.
