I, the Lord have spoken. It shall come to pass, and I will do it: I will not pass by, nor spare, nor be pacified. I will judge thee according to thy ways and according to thy doings, saith the Lord.

And as I have watched over them, to pluck up and to throw down and to scatter and destroy and afflict: so will I watch over them, to build up and to plant them, saith the Lord.

The earth shall mourn, and the heavens shall lament from above: because I have spoken, I have purposed and I have not repented, neither am I turned away from it.

But yet my words, and my ordinances, which I gave in charge to my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers, and they returned, and said: As the Lord of hosts thought to do to us according to our ways, and according to our devices, so he hath done to us.

Let that man be as the cities that the Lord hath overthrown, and hath not repented: let him hear a cry in the morning and howling at noontide:

The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying: Surely as I have thought, so shall it be. And as I have purposed,

The rich have wanted, and have suffered hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not be deprived of any good.

But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused the prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, and there was no remedy.

For thus saith the Lord: As I have brought upon this people all this great evil, so will I bring upon them all the good that I now speak to them.

For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of affliction, to give you an end and patience.

The Lord hath been exceeding angry with your fathers.
