In whom we also are called by lot, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things according to the counsel of his will.

To do what thy hand and thy counsel decreed to be done.

And the angel answered, and said to me: These are the four winds of the heaven, which go forth to stand before the Lord of all the earth.

And I turned and lifted up my eyes: and I saw, and behold a volume flying.

And from the beginning I am the same: and there is none that can deliver out of my hand. I will work, and who shall turn it away?

There is no wisdom, there is no prudence, there is no counsel against the Lord.

And he will bring forth thy justice as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

The rich have wanted, and have suffered hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not be deprived of any good.

For when he granteth peace, who is there that can condemn? When he hideth his countenance, who is there that can behold him, whether it regard nations, or all men?

He raiseth up the needy from the dust, and lifteth up the poor from the dunghill: that he may sit with princes, and hold the throne of glory. For the poles of the earth are the Lord's, and upon them he hath set the world.

According to the eternal purpose, which he made, in Christ Jesus our Lord:

And Eliseus prayed, and said: Lord, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the servant, and he saw. And, behold, the mountain was full of horses, and chariots of fire round about Eliseus.

For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and his chariots are like a whirlwind: to render his wrath in indignation and his rebuke with flames of fire.

Behold, he shall come up as a cloud, and his chariots as a tempest: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us, for we are laid waste!
