And the Lord said to Satan: The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan: and the Lord that chose Jerusalem rebuke thee: Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

I destroyed some of you, as God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrha, and you were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet you returned not to me, saith the Lord.

But others save, pulling them out of the fire. And on others have mercy, in fear, hating also the spotted garment which is carnal.

When Michael the archangel, disputing with the devil, contended about the body of Moses, he durst not bring against him the judgment of railing speech, but said: The Lord command thee.

These shall fight with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them, because he is Lord of lords, and King of kings, and they that are with him are called, and elect, and faithful.

And Jesus threatened him, saying: Speak no more, and go out of the man.

But I chose Jerusalem, that my name might be there: and I chose David to set him over my people Israel.

And as he was coming to him, the devil threw him down, and tore him.

And crying out, and greatly tearing him, he went out of him, and he became as dead, so that many said: He is dead.

And thou shalt say to him: See thou be quiet: fear not, and let not thy heart be afraid of the two tails of these firebrands, smoking with the wrath of the fury of Rasin king of Syria, and of the son of Romelia.

From the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel, for a house to be built in it to my name. Neither chose I any other man, to be the ruler of my people Israel.
