And the same John had his garment of camels' hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins: and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

At that same time, the Lord spoke by the hand of Isaias the son of Amos, saying: Go, and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and take off thy shoes from thy feet. And he did so, and went naked and barefoot.

But they said: A hairy man with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said: It is Elias the Thesbite.

And I will give unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

And John was clothed with camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and he ate locusts and wild honey.

They were confounded, because they committed abomination: yea rather, they were not confounded with confusion and they knew not how to blush. Wherefore they shall fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall fall down, saith the Lord.

As the thief is confounded when he is taken, so is the house of Israel confounded, they and their kings, their princes and their priests and their prophets.

They were stoned, they were cut asunder, they were tempted, they were put to death by the sword, they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being in want, distressed, afflicted:

The wise men are confounded, they are dismayed and taken: for they have cast away the word of the Lord, and there is no wisdom in them.
