Who hath delivered us and called us by his holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the times of the world.

And such some of you were; but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of our God.

Whereunto baptism being of the like form, now saveth you also: not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the examination of a good conscience towards God by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy hath regenerated us unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

And be not conformed to this world; but be reformed in the newness of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, and the acceptable, and the perfect will of God.

But God, (who is rich in mercy,) for his exceeding charity wherewith he loved us,

That he might sanctify it, cleansing it by the laver of water in the word of life:

But I, as a fruitful olive tree in the house of God, have hoped in the mercy of God for ever, yea for ever and ever.

And if by grace, it is not now by works: otherwise grace is no more grace.

Let us go therefore with confidence to the throne of grace: that we may obtain mercy, and find grace in seasonable aid.

And putting on the new, him who is renewed unto knowledge, according to the image of him that created him.

But knowing that man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ; we also believe in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

Because by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified before him. For by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Who in time past were not a people: but are now the people of God. Who had not obtained mercy; but now have obtained mercy.

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind:

For we account a man to be justified by faith, without the works of the law.

For when the children were not yet born, nor had done any good or evil (that the purpose of God, according to election, might stand,)

Through the bowels of the mercy of our God, in which the Orient from on high hath visited us:

He hath received Israel his servant, being mindful of his mercy:

And his mercy is from generation unto generations, to them that fear him.

Who is a God like to thee, who takest away iniquity, and passest by the sin of the remnant of thy inheritance? he will send his fury in no more, because he delighteth in mercy.

My mercy, and my refuge: my support, and my deliverer: My protector, and I have hoped in him: who subdueth my people under me.

Can man be justified compared with God; or he that is born of a woman appear clean?

But when the goodness and kindness of God our Savior appeared:

What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who followed not after justice, have attained to justice, even the justice that is of faith.

So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

But to him that worketh not, yet believeth in him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is reputed to justice, according to the purpose of the grace of God.

To perform mercy to our fathers, and to remember his holy testament,

I will declare thy justice: and thy works shall not profit thee.

And are fallen away: to be renewed again to penance, crucifying again to themselves the Son of God, and making him a mockery.

Shall not Sion say: This man and that man is born in her? and the Highest himself hath founded her.

But the king shall rejoice in God, all they shall be praised that swear by him: because the mouth is stopped of them that speak wicked things.

What is man that he should be without spot, and he that is born of a woman that he should appear just?

If I would justify myself, my own mouth shall condemn me: if I would shew myself innocent, he shall prove me wicked.

For it is not for thy justices, and the uprightness of thy heart that thou shalt go in to possess their lands. But because they have done wickedly, they are destroyed at thy coming in: and that the Lord might accomplish his word, which he promised by oath to thy fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

And I will pour upon you clean water, and you shall be cleansed from all your filthiness, and I will cleanse you from all your idols.

I indeed baptize you in the water unto penance, but he that shall come after me, is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear; he shall baptize you in the Holy Ghost and fire.

If, by any means, I may provoke to emulation them who are my flesh, and may save some of them.

Let us draw near with a true heart in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with clean water.
