And especially them who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government, audacious, self willed, they fear not to bring in sects, blaspheming.

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is luxury; but be ye filled with the holy Spirit,

Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking care of it, not by constraint, but willingly, according to God: not for filthy lucre's sake, but voluntarily:

As every man hath received grace, ministering the same one to another: as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

And the Lord said: Who (thinkest thou) is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord setteth over his family, to give them their measure of wheat in due season?

And no priest shall drink wine when he is to go into the inner court.

But these also have been ignorant through wine, and through drunkenness have erred: the priest and the prophet have been ignorant through drunkenness. They are swallowed up with wine, they have gone astray in drunkenness, they have not known him that seeth, they have been ignorant of judgment.

The impatient man shall work folly: and the crafty man is hateful.

A passionate man stirreth up strifes: he that is patient appeaseth those that are stirred up.

The aged women, in like manner, in holy attire, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teaching well:

For this cause I left thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and shouldest ordain priests in every city, as I also appointed thee:

Paul and Timothy, the servants of Jesus Christ; to all the saints in Christ Jesus, who are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons.

Who, thinkest thou, is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath appointed over his family, to give them meat in season.

Better is the end of a speech than the beginning. Better is the patient man than the presumptuous.

The patient man is better than the valiant: and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh cities.

You shall not drink wine nor any thing that may make drunk, thou nor thy sons, when you enter into the tabernacle of the testimony, lest you die. Because it is an everlasting precept through your generations:

Let not my soul go into their counsel, nor my glory be in their assembly: because in their fury they slew a man, and in their selfwill they undermined a wall.
