But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise, by the faith of Jesus Christ, might be given to them that believe.

What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

That say: Depart from me. Come not near me, because thou art unclean. These shall be smoke in my anger, a fire burning all the day.

For God hath concluded all in unbelief, that he may have mercy on all.

Now we know, that what things soever the law speaketh, it speaketh to them that are in the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be made subject to God.

But what then? So that by all means, whether by occasion, or by truth, Christ be preached: in this also I rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

For as many as are of the works of the law, are under a curse. For it is written: Cursed is every one, that abideth not in all things, which are written in the book of the law to do them.

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, I will pray also with the understanding; I will sing with the spirit, I will sing also with the understanding.

What then? Do I say, that what is offered in sacrifice to idols, is any thing? Or, that the idol is any thing?

For who distinguisheth thee? Or what hast thou that thou hast not received? And if thou hast received, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

What then? That which Israel sought, he hath not obtained: but the election hath obtained it; and the rest have been blinded.

But if our injustice commend the justice of God, what shall we say? Is God unjust, who executeth wrath?

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and injustice of those men that detain the truth of God in injustice:

And the Pharisee, who had invited him, seeing it, spoke within himself, saying: This man, if he were a prophet, would know surely who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him, that she is a sinner.

Who can say: My heart is clean, I am pure from sin?

WHEREFORE thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest. For wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself. For thou dost the same things which thou judgest.

WHAT advantage then hath the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision?

For we know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under sin.
