For all our days are spent; and in thy wrath we have fainted away. Our years shall be considered spider:
Who by his power ruleth for ever: his eyes behold the nations; let not them that provoke him he exalted in themselves.
And rising up, he rebuked the wind, and said to the sea: Peace, be still. And the wind ceased: and there was made a great calm.
What profit is there in my blood, whilst I go down to corruption? Shall dust confess to thee, or declare thy truth?
He rebuketh the sea, and drieth it up: and bringeth all the rivers to be a desert. Basan languisheth and Carmel: and the dower of Libanus fadeth away.
And when they were come up into the boat, the wind ceased.
What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou didst flee: and thou, O Jordan, that thou wast turned back?
And justice shall be the girdle of his loins: and faith the girdle of his reins.
Thou shewest mercy unto thousands and returnest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them. O most mighty, great, and powerful: the Lord of hosts is thy name.
