But the sons of Benjamin did not destroy the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem: and the Jebusite hath dwelt with the sons of Benjamin in Jerusalem until this present day.

Thou shalt consume all the people, which the Lord thy God will deliver to thee. Thy eye shall not spare them: neither shalt thou serve their gods, lest they be thy ruin.

And the Lord thy God shall have delivered them to thee: thou shalt utterly destroy them. Thou shalt make no league with them, nor shew mercy to them.

Now therefore go, and smite Amalec, and utterly destroy all that he hath. Spare him not, nor covet any thing that is his; but slay both man and woman, child and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

And the Lord was with Juda, and he possessed the hill country: but was not able to destroy the inhabitants of the valley, because they had many chariots armed with scythes.

And the children of Ephraim slew not the Chanaanite, who dwelt in Gazer: and the Chanaanite dwelt in the midst of Ephraim until this day, paying tribute.

But the children of Juda could not destroy the Jebusite that dwelt in Jerusalem. And the Jebusite dwelt with the children of Juda in Jerusalem until this present day.

Destroy all the inhabitants of that land. Beat down their pillars, and break in pieces their statues, and waste all their high places,

On condition that you should not make a league with the inhabitants of this land, but should throw down their altars. And you would not hear my voice. Why have you done this?

Of their children, and of the posterity, whom the children of Israel had not slain, Solomon made to be the tributaries, unto this day.
