The Lord therefore struck the people for the guilt on occasion of the calf which Aaron had made.

Neither become ye idolaters, as some of them, as it is written: The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifices to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

For I feared his indignation and anger, wherewith being moved against you he would have destroyed you. And the Lord heard me this time also.
