He that rejecteth instruction, despiseth his own soul: but he that yieldeth to reproof possesseth understanding.

Say to them: As I live, saith the Lord God, I desire not the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way, and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways: and why will you die, O house of Israel?

He that gathereth treasures by a lying tongue, is vain and foolish, and shall stumble upon the snares of death.

If thou sin, what shalt thou hurt him? And if thy iniquities be multiplied, what shalt thou do against him?

The turning away of little ones shall kill them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

The shew of their countenance hath answered them: and they have proclaimed abroad their sin as Sodom, and they have not hid it. Woe to their souls, for evils are rendered to them.

Why will you die, thou and thy people, by the sword and by famine and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying: Do thyself no harm, for we all are here.
