That she may keep thee from the woman that is not thine, and from the stranger who sweeteneth her words.

For the lips of a harlot are like a honeycomb dropping, and her throat is smoother than oil.

I have surveyed all things with my mind, to know, and consider, and seek out wisdom and reason: and to know the wickedness of the fool, and the error of the imprudent:

But he, in no wise consenting to that wicked act, said to her: Behold, my master hath delivered all things to me, and knoweth not what he hath in his own house.

Why art thou seduced, my son, by a strange woman, and art cherished in the bosom of another?

She entangled him with many words, and drew him away with the flattery of her lips.
