And he said to them: Take heed what you hear. In what measure you shall mete, it shall be measured to you again, and more shall be given to you.

Dearly beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits if they be of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Go against a foolish man, and he knoweth not the lips of prudence.

If any man come to you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into the house nor say to him, God speed you.

But avoid foolish and old wives' fables: and exercise thyself unto godliness.

That henceforth we be no more children tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the wickedness of men, by cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive

But a stranger they follow not, but fly from him, because they know not the voice of strangers.

Then they understood that he said not that they should beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Who said to them: Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them that are evil, and thou hast tried them, who say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

He that afflicteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is infamous and unhappy.

An unjust witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.

Therefore hearken not to your prophets and diviners and dreamers and soothsayers and sorcerers that say to you: You shall not serve the king Babylon.

And Jonadab said to him: Lie down upon thy bed, and feign thyself sick; and when thy father shall come to visit thee, say to him: Let my sister Thamar, I pray thee, come to me, to give me to eat, and to make me a mess, that I may eat it at her hand.

But they answered as young men and brought up with him in pleasures, and said: Thus shalt thou speak to the people, that said to thee: Thy father made our yoke heavy, do thou ease it. Thus shalt thou answer them: My little finger is thicker than the loins of my father.
