The deceitful man shall not find gain: but the substance of a just man shall be precious gold.

The slothful hand hath wrought poverty: but the hand of the industrious getteth riches. He that trusteth to lies feedeth the winds: and the same runneth after birds that fly away.

A wise servant shall rule over foolish sons, and shall divide the inheritance among the brethren.

The sluggard willeth and willeth not: but the soul of them that work, shall be made fat.

Hast thou seen a man swift in his work? he shall stand before kings, and shall not be before those that are obscure.

The slothful man saith: There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the midst of the streets.

Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep, and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

And Jeroboam was a valiant and mighty man: and Solomon seeing him a young man ingenious and industrious made him chief over the tributes of all the house of Joseph.

He saw rest that it was good: and the land that it was excellent. And he bowed his shoulder to carry, and became a servant under tribute.

Their children, that were left in the land, to wit, such as the children of Israel had not been able to destroy, Solomon made tributary unto this day.

And it came to pass when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again, that they gathered an assembly, and sent and called him, and made him king over all Israel. And there was none that followed the house of David but the tribe of Juda only.

But after Israel was grown strong he made them tributaries, and would not destroy them.
