He sent therefore messengers to Balaam, the son of Beor, a soothsayer, who dwelt by the river of the land of the children of Ammon, to call him, and to say: Behold, a people is come out of Egypt, that hath covered the face of the earth, sitting over against me.

And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: if any man be able to number the dust of the earth, he shall be able to number thy seed also.

And they covered the whole face of the earth, wasting all things. And the grass of the earth was devoured, and what fruits soever were on the trees, which the hail had left. And there remained not any thing that was green on the trees, or in the herbs of the earth in all Egypt.

And their kings, Evi, and Recem, and Sur, and Hur, and Rebe, five princes of the nation: Balaam also the son of Beor, they killed with the sword.

And the Lord thy God would not hear Balaam: and he turned his cursing into thy blessing, because he loved thee.
