I have heard the murmuring of the children of Israel. Say to them: In the evening you shall eat flesh, and in the morning you shall have your fill of bread. And you shall know that I am the Lord your God.

Neither do you murmur: as some of them murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

And they brought him. And when he had seen him, immediately the spirit troubled him; and being thrown down upon the ground, he rolled about foaming.

And the Lord said to Moses: How long will this people detract me? how long will they not believe me for all the signs that I have wrought before them?

And the Lord said to Moses: How long will you refuse to keep my commandments, and my law?

And Jesus came and touched them: and said to them, Arise, and fear not.

And in the morning you shall see the glory of the Lord. For he hath heard your murmurings against the Lord: but as for us, what are we, that you mutter against us?

In the mean time there arose a murmuring of the people against the Lord, as it were repining at their fatigue. And when the Lord heard it, he was angry. And the fire of the Lord being kindled against them, devoured them that were at the uttermost part of the camp.

And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:

Moses also said to Aaron: Say to the whole congregation of the children of Israel: Come before the Lord, for he hath heard your murmuring.

And you rose up against me with your mouth, and have derogated from me by your words: I have heard them.
