And they took strong cities and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods: cisterns made by others, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance. And they ate, and were filled, and became fat, and abounded with delight in thy great goodness.

According to their pastures they were filled, and were made full: and they lifted up their heart, and have forgotten me.

And I will fill the soul of the priests with fatness: and my people shall be filled with my good things, saith the Lord.

Blind the heart of this people, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes: lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and be converted, and I heal them.

Thou hast brought us into a net, thou hast laid afflictions on our back:

Lest perhaps being filled, I should be tempted to deny, and say: Who is the Lord? or being compelled by poverty, I should steal, and forswear the name of my God.

I will remember the tender mercies of the Lord, the praise of the Lord for all the things that the Lord hath bestowed upon us: and for the multitude of his good things to the house of Israel, which he hath given them according to his kindness and according to the multitude of his mercies.

Butter of the herd, and milk of the sheep with the fat of lambs, and of the rams of the breed of Basan. And goats with the marrow of wheat, and might drink the purest blood of the grape.

But hast done evil above all that were before thee, and hast made thee strange gods and molten gods, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:

And he saw when they were in tribulation: and he heard their prayer.

And I brought you into the land of Carmel, to eat the fruit thereof and the best things thereof: and when ye entered in, you defiled my land and made my inheritance an abomination.

And they came in and possessed it: but they obeyed not thy voice and they walked not in thy law. And they did not any of those things that thou didst command them to do: and all these evils are come upon them.
