But Sanaballat the Horonite, and Tobias the servant, the Ammonite, and Gossem the Arabian heard of it, and they scoffed at us, and despised us, and said: What is this thing that you do? Are you going to rebel against the king?

It is reported amongst the Gentiles, and Gossem hath said it, that thou and the Jews think to rebel; and therefore thou buildest the wall and hast a mind to set thyself king over them. For which end

Convert us, O God: and shew us thy face, and we shall be saved.

But now the younger in time scorn me, whose fathers I would not have set with the dogs of my flock.

And Sanaballat the Horonite, and Tobias the servant, the Ammonite: heard it, and it grieved them exceedingly, that a man was come, who sought the prosperity of the children of Israel.

He said: Give place, for the girl is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

And one of the sons of Joiada the son of Eliasib the high priest, was son-in-law to Sanaballat the Horonite: and I drove him from me.
