And we set over the storehouses Selemias the priest, and Sadoc the scribe, and of the Levites Phadaia; and next to them Hanan the son of Zachur, the son of Mathania. For they were approved as faithful; and to them were committed the portions of their brethren.

I commanded Hanani my brother, and Hananias ruler of the house of Jerusalem, (for he seemed as a sincere man, and one that feared God above the rest)

But let there be no reckoning made with them of the money which they receive: but let them have it in their power, and in their trust.

Here now it is required among the dispensers, that a man be found faithful.

Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

And laid it down before the feet of the apostles. And distribution was made to every one, according as he had need.

And the Lord said: Who (thinkest thou) is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord setteth over his family, to give them their measure of wheat in due season?

And his brethren Semeia, and Azareel Malalai, Galalai, Maai, Nathanael, and Judas, and Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God: and Esdras the scribe before them at the fountain gate.

And the overseer of the Levites in Jerusalem was Azzi the son of Bani, the son of Hasabia, the son of Mathania, the son of Micha. Of the sons of Asaph were the singing men in the ministry of the house of God.

And Esdras the scribe stood upon a step of wood, which he had made to speak upon. And there stood by him Mathathias, and Semeia, and Ania, and Uria, and Helcia, and Maasia, on his right hand: and on the left, Phadaia, Misael, and Melchia, and Hasum, and Hasbadana, Zacharia and Mosollam.

After him built Hanania the son of Selemia, and Hanun the sixth son of Seleph, another measure. After him built Mosollam the son of Barachias over against his treasury. After him Melcias the goldsmith's son built unto the house of the Nathinites and of the sellers of small wares, over against the judgment gate, and unto the chamber of the corner.

And the priest, the son of Aaron, shall be with the Levites in the tithes of the Levites; and the Levites shall offer the tithe of their tithes in the house of our God, to the storeroom into the treasure house.

But the money for trespass, and the money for sins, they brought not into the temple of the Lord, because it was for the priests.
