But the sure foundation of God standeth firm, having this seal: the Lord knoweth who are his; and let every one depart from iniquity who nameth the name of the Lord.

My sheep hear my voice: and I know them, and they follow me.

Teth. The Lord is good to them that hope in him, to the soul that seeketh him.

I am the good shepherd; and I know mine, and mine know me.

The man that in private detracted his neighbour, him did I persecute. With him that had a proud eye, and an unsatiable heart, I would not eat.

Because they have not understood the works of the Lord, and the operations of his hands: thou shalt destroy them, and shalt not build them up.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the just runneth to it, and shall be exalted.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the just: and the way of the wicked shall perish.

But now, after that you have known God, or rather are known by God: how turn you again to the weak and needy elements, which you desire to serve again?

Because thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the whirlwind, a shadow from the heat. For the blast of the mighty is like a whirlwind beating against a wall.

Give ye glory to the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

The voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say: Give ye glory to the Lord of hosts, for the Lord is good, for his mercy endureth for ever. And of them that shall bring their vows into the house of the Lord: for I will bring back the captivity of the land as at the first, saith the Lord.

The dwelling in thee is as it were of all rejoicing.

And a man shall be as when one is hid from the wind, and hideth himself from a storm: as rivers of waters in drought, and the shadow of a rock that standeth out in a desert land.

I have loved, O Lord, the beauty of thy house; and the place where thy glory dwelleth.

Let the mountains receive peace for the people: and the hills justice.

They shall still increase in a fruitful old age: and shall be well treated,

I will teach the unjust thy ways: and the wicked shall be converted to thee.

See then the goodness and the severity of God: towards them indeed that are fallen, the severity; but towards thee, the goodness of God, if thou abide in goodness, otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

And the Lord sent an angel, who cut off all the stout men and the warriors, and the captains of the army of the king of the Assyrians. And he returned with disgrace into his own country. And when he was come into the house of his god, his sons that came out of his bowels slew him with the sword.

He trusted in God; let him now deliver him if he will have him; for he said: I am the Son of God.

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.

And they sung together hymns, and praise to the Lord: because he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever towards Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, praising the Lord, because the foundations of the temple of the Lord were laid.

Doth not Ezechias deceive you, to give you up to die by hunger and thirst, affirming that the Lord your God shall deliver you from the hand of the king of the Assyrians?

For with him is an arm of flesh: with us the Lord our God, who is our helper, and fighteth for us. And the people were encouraged with these words of Ezechias king of Juda.

Gave them help. And the Agarites were delivered into their hands, and all that were with them, because they called upon God in the battle: and he heard them, because they had put their faith in him.

Unto the end. A psalm for David.

O Lord, my might and my strength and my refuge in the day of tribulation: to thee the Gentiles shall come from the ends of the earth and shall say: Surely our fathers have possessed lies, a vanity which hath not profited them.

Be not thou a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of affliction.

Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel: Like these good figs, so will I regard the captives of Juda, whom I have sent forth out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, for their good.

And the Lord shall roar out of Sion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem: and the heavens and the earth shall be moved, and the Lord shall be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

And I will leave in the midst of thee a poor and needy people: and they shall hope in the name of the Lord.

And the children of Israel were brought down, at that time, and the children of Juda were exceedingly strengthened, because they had trusted in the Lord the God of their fathers.

And the Lord is become a refuge for the poor: a helper in due time in tribulation.

O clap your hands, all ye nations: shout unto God with the voice of Joy,

Who is there among you that feareth the Lord, that heareth the voice of his servant, that hath walked in darkness, and hath no light? Let him hope in the name of the Lord and lean upon his God.
