And they being assembled together with the ancients, taking counsel, gave a great sum of money to the soldiers,
And calling in the apostles, after they had scourged them, they charged them that they should not speak at all in the name of Jesus; and they dismissed them.
The chief priests therefore, and the Pharisees, gathered a council, and said: What do we, for this man doth many miracles?
And the Pharisees going out made a consultation against him, how they might destroy him.
Who when they were departed, behold some of the guards came into the city, and told the chief priests all things that had been done.
