Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.

And Judas that betrayed him, answering, said: Is it I, Rabbi? He saith to him: Thou hast said it.

And they came to him, and said: Hail, king of the Jews; and they gave him blows.

Thou gavest me no kiss; but she, since she came in, hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

And they began to salute him: Hail, king of the Jews.

Better are the wounds of a friend, than the deceitful kisses of an enemy.

And Joab said to Amasa: God save thee, my brother. And he took Amasa by the chin with his right hand to kiss him.

And Samuel took a little vial of oil; and poured it upon his head; and kissed him; and said: Behold, the Lord hath anointed thee to be prince over his inheritance: and thou shalt deliver his people out of the hands of their enemies, that are round about them. And he that betrayed him, gave them a sign, saying: Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he, hold him fast.

In the mean time the disciples prayed him, saying: Rabbi, eat.
