Again he sent other servants more than the former; and they did to them in like manner.

He that spared not even his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how hath he not also, with him, given us all things?

I am come into my garden, O my sister, my spouse, I have gathered my myrrh, with my aromatical spices: I have eaten the honeycomb with my honey, I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends, and drink, and be inebriated, my dearly beloved.

Shall not Sion say: This man and that man is born in her? and the Highest himself hath founded her.

And they would not hear, and they remembered not thy wonders which thou hadst done for them. And they hardened their necks, and gave the head to return to their bondage, as it were by contention. But thou, a forgiving God, gracious, and merciful, long-suffering, and full of compassion, didst not forsake them.

It is better to be invited to herbs with love, than to a fatted calf with hatred.

But they neglected, and went their own ways, one to his farm, and another to his merchandise.
