And because you are sons, God hath sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying: Abba, Father.

I cannot of myself do any thing. As I hear, so I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

If we believe not, he continueth faithful, he can not deny himself.

Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. But for this cause I came unto this hour.

Unto the hope of life everlasting, which God, who lieth not, hath promised before the times of the world:

He humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross.

Jesus therefore said to Peter: Put up thy sword into the scabbard. The chalice which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

And Jesus looking on them, saith: With men it is impossible; but not with God: for all things are possible with God.

Jesus saith to them: My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, that I may perfect his work.

And going a little further, he fell upon his face, praying, and saying: My Father, if it be possible, let this chalice pass from me. Nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Thus therefore shall you pray: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Behold, I am the Lord the God of all flesh: Shall any thing be hard for me?

All my enemies whispered together against me: they devised evils to me.

Is there any thing hard to God? According to appointment, I will return to thee at this same time, life accompanying; and Sara shall have a son.

That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have the strongest comfort, who have fled for refuge to hold fast the hope set before us.

Again the second time, he went and prayed, saying: My Father, if this chalice may not pass away, but I must drink it, thy will be done.

And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping. And he saith to Peter: Simon, sleepest thou? couldst thou not watch one hour?

But they said to him: We can. And Jesus saith to them: You shall indeed drink of the chalice that I drink of: and with the baptism wherewith I am baptized, you shall be baptized.
