For the slaughter, and for the iniquity against thy brother Jacob, confusion shall cover thee, and thou shalt perish for ever.

Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom a wilderness destroyed: because they have done unjustly against the children of Juda, and have shed innocent blood in their land.

For lo I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be ploughed and sown.

And that which was dry land shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water. In the dens where dragons dwelt before shall rise up the verdure of the reed and the bulrush.

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

And he answering said: Two nations are in thy womb and two peoples shall be divided out of thy womb. And one people shall overcome the other; and the elder shall serve the younger.

Flee and turn your backs, go down into the deep hole, ye inhabitants of Dedan: for I have brought the destruction of Esau upon him, the time of his visitation.

Therefore hear ye the counsel of the Lord which he hath taken concerning Edom and his thoughts which he hath thought concerning the inhabitants of Theman. Surely the little ones of the flock shall cast them down: of a truth they shall destroy them with their habitation.

And Asor shall be a habitation for dragons, desolate for ever: no man shall abide there, nor son of man inhabit it.

Thau. Thy iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Sion, he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he visited thy iniquity, O daughter of Edom, he hath discovered thy sins.

Against Edom. Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Is wisdom no more in Theman? Counsel is perished from her children: their wisdom is become unprofitable.
