But he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And unto whomsoever much is given, of him much shall be required: and to whom they have committed much, of him they will demand the more.

Be ye not many masters, my brethren, knowing that you receive the greater judgment.

If any one sin through ignorance, and do one of those things which by the law of the Lord are forbidden, and being guilty of sin, understand his iniquity:

If I had not come, and spoken to them, they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.

For he that hath, to him shall be given, and he shall abound: but he that hath not, from him shall be taken away that also which he hath.

Who before was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and contumelious. But I obtained the mercy of God, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

But if one soul shall sin ignorantly, he shall offer a she-goat of a year old for his sin.

And if they see that the offender be worthy of stripes: they shall lay him down, and shall cause him to be beaten before them. According to the measure of the sin shall the measure also of the stripes be.

And Peter said to him: Lord, dost thou speak this parable to us, or likewise to all?

I am come to cast fire on the earth; and what will I, but that it be kindled?

Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites: because you devour the houses of widows, praying long prayers. For this you shall receive the greater judgment.
