Thomas answered, and said to him: My Lord, and my God.

Let nothing be done through contention, neither by vain glory: but in humility, let each esteem others better than themselves:

She fell on her face and worshipping upon the ground said to him: Whence cometh this to me, that I should find grace before thy eyes, and that thou shouldst vouchsafe to take notice of me a woman of another country?

As he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold his mother and his brethren stood without, seeking to speak to him.

And she cried out with a loud voice, and said: Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

For behold as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.
