That the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremias might be fulfilled, and the land might keep her sabbaths. For all the days of the desolation she kept a sabbath, till the seventy years were expired.

Which when she shall be left by them shall enjoy her sabbaths, being desolate for them. But they shall pray for their sins, because they rejected my judgments, and despised my laws.

And thou shalt sanctify the fiftieth year, and shalt proclaim remission to all the inhabitants of thy land: for it is the year of jubilee. Every man shall return to his possession, and every one shall go back to his former family:

In the enemy's land, she shall keep a sabbath, and rest in the sabbaths of her desolation, because she did not rest in your sabbaths when you dwelt therein.

But if they sin against thee (for there is no man who sinneth not) and thou being angry deliver them up to their enemies, so that they be led away captives into the land of their enemies far or near:

Therefore thus saith the Lord: You have not hearkened to me in proclaiming liberty every man to his brother and every man to his friend: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence and to the famine: and I will cause you to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth.
